MythTV Remote – URC6131n
This is my remote there are many like it but this one is mine …
This is the remote I use for all my MythTV boxes. To me its basically perfect for a number of reasons
- It doesn’t look too different from a regular remote, unlike some others, and so it doesn’t look out of place
- Its from OneForAll and so almost every media device I have that can be controlled with a remote (it does have some trouble with DVD/VCR combos)
- Its got keymover and all the other advanced all for one stuff so its pretty configurable (more so than I have yet to need)
Of course there are a couple of improvements I would like
- JP1 (I understand you can add this with some parts and some soldering)
- Its getting harder to find at a good price, < $10
- I might be nice if the navigation pad had 8 directions instead of 4 so you could have the mouse daemon move diagonally. However this might be bad depending on how often you accidentally push the diagonals as it may interfere with menu navigation
